1. Guidelines for Talent & Crew
1.1 Integrity of Credits and Identity
No Misrepresentation: Your digital CV, training history, body of work, and professional credits must be completely accurate and truthful. Fabricating credits or inflating experience damages industry trust and is strictly prohibited.
Media Ownership: You must possess the absolute copyright or explicit permission for every headshot, portfolio image, or audio/video showreel clip you upload. Always respect photographer and production copyrights.
Up-to-Date Metrics: Ensure physical and vocal attributes, including playing age, height and hair length, are kept reasonably accurate to prevent wasting production time during live call-backs.
1.2 Profile Photos, Headshots, and Media Quality
Professional Profile Standard: Your main profile image must be a clear, recent, professional-style headshot that shows your face clearly. It does not have to be taken by a professional photographer, but it must be suitable for casting and industry review.
Image Quality: Profile images must not be blurry, heavily pixelated, dark, distorted, over-filtered, or cropped in a way that makes it difficult to identify you.
No Joke, Meme, or Placeholder Images: You may not use cartoon images, memes, logos, group photos, random objects, celebrity photos, AI avatars, screenshots, or unrelated images as your main profile photo.
Face Visibility: Your face must be clearly visible. Sunglasses, masks, heavy filters, extreme shadows, or anything that hides your face are not allowed on your main profile image unless required for genuine medical, accessibility, religious, or prescription reasons.
Self-Taken Images: Self-taken headshots are allowed, provided they are clear, well-lit, recent, and presented professionally.
Portfolio and Character Images: Creative, character, costume, or stylised images may be uploaded as supporting portfolio media where appropriate, but your main profile image must remain a clear casting-friendly headshot.
Removal Rights: CCUK reserves the right to remove, reject, or request replacement of any image that does not meet these standards, or that makes the platform look unprofessional, unsafe, misleading, or unsuitable for industry use.
1.3 Professional Application Conduct
No Application Spamming: Only apply to casting calls or production roles for which you genuinely meet the specified criteria, such as location, playing age, gender or skill set.
Honouring Commitments: If you accept an audition space, a self-tape deadline, a call-back, or a booking through this platform, you are expected to honour it. Consistent unexcused no-shows will result in profile visibility restrictions.
2. Guidelines for Casting Professionals & Production Companies
2.1 Transparent and Lawful Project Listings
Accurate Briefs: Every casting call or crew vacancy must clearly detail the nature of the project, character breakdowns, working dates, locations, and the financial compensation structure.
UK National Minimum Wage Compliance: All listed opportunities must comply fully with UK National Minimum Wage laws. Speculative or unpaid projects must explicitly declare their union/Equity status, or state clearly upfront if they are low-budget/profit-share setups. Hidden or surprise unpaid expectations face an immediate lifetime ban.
No Hidden Fees: You may not use a casting call on this platform to upsell secondary services, headshot packages, or paid training workshops to applicants.
2.2 Safeguarding and Professional Spaces
Audition Environments: Auditions, chemistry reads, and interviews must be held in recognised professional environments, including studios, rehearsal rooms, offices, or verified online spaces. Holding initial auditions or professional meetings in private residential spaces is strictly forbidden.
Under 18s Protocol: When casting or communicating regarding a Child Account under 18, all communication must flow entirely through the verified parent or legal guardian's account interface. Direct out-of-app contact with a minor is a zero-tolerance offence.
3. Guidelines for Agents & Industry Services
3.1 Roster Integrity
Authorised Management Only: Agents and agencies must only register, list, and manage talent profiles for individuals with whom they hold an active, formal representation agreement.
Prompt Updates: Agents are expected to keep their client rosters clean, removing performers who have left the agency to ensure directory database accuracy.
3.2 Service Provider Standards
Authentic Portfolio Claims: Industry Service providers, including photographers, vocal coaches and showreel editors, must display genuine examples of their own work.
No Exploitative Marketing: Cold-messaging talent via the internal messaging loop to aggressively pitch paid services, workshops, or portfolios is classified as platform spam.
4. Universal Platform Rules (All Roles)
4.1 Communication & Respect
Professional Tone: All internal direct messages, application notes, and notifications must remain courteous, professional, and industry-appropriate. Harassment, abusive language, bullying, or discrimination based on race, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation will result in an immediate account wipe.
Keep Communication In-Platform Early On: For safety, tracking, and dispute resolution, we strongly advise keeping initial project discussions and scoping inside our secure messaging portal before moving to external email or phone lines.
4.2 Security, Scraping, and Data Harvesting
Data Privacy: You may not harvest, copy, export, or scrape profile data, contact details, headshots, or portfolios from our Talent Directory using automated bots, scripts, or extensions.
Account Sharing: Your login session is yours alone. Multi-user access or sharing passwords outside your corporate entity/agency team is entirely prohibited.
5. Enforcement & Removal Metrics
5.1 Reporting a Breach
If you encounter a profile, message, or project listing that breaches these guidelines, please click the Report button directly on the specific profile/listing inside appcastingcalls.uk, or email our triage desk at support@castingcalls.uk.
5.2 Forfeiture of Billing Cycles Upon Breach
Important Notice on Removals: While our standard subscription terms permit users to cancel and keep the time they have paid for until the next renewal date, this privilege is entirely forfeited if your account is banned or suspended due to a breach of these Community Guidelines. Users removed for behavioural violations, safeguarding failures, fraud, or harassment will have their access revoked immediately and will not be eligible for pro-rata refunds.
