Welcome to Casting Calls UK. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding contract between you ("User", "you", or "your") and CASTING CALLS UK LTD ("we", "us", "our", or "CCUK"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15807876, with its registered office at Bartle House, 9 Oxford Court, Manchester, M2 3WQ.
By accessing, registering for, creating an account on, or using our public domain (castingcalls.uk) and our technical web application platform (appcastingcalls.uk) (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our cross-referenced Community Guidelines. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately cease using the Platform.

1. The Platform and Industry Roles
Casting Calls UK is a dedicated digital industry index and casting ecosystem designed to connect professionals across the UK creative, screen, and stage industries.
1.1 Multi-Side Marketplace Roles
The Platform provides custom-tailored, role-aware journeys for six distinct industry definitions. When creating an account, you must select the category that genuinely reflects your professional function. Misrepresenting your industry status to harvest user data or exploit members is a severe breach of these Terms.
Talent: Actors, voice-over artists, singers, performers, and models building digital profiles to showcase headshots, credits, skills, showreels, external Spotlight profiles, and managing applications.
Casting Professionals: Industry casting directors, associates, and coordinators utilising tools to post production casting calls, review talent, and organise applications.
Agents & Agencies: Talent representatives managing rosters, visibility, and direct casting submissions for multiple clients simultaneously.
Production Companies: Studios, production houses, and networks managing high-level project visibility and tracking casting/crew pipelines.
Crew: Directors, producers, camera operators, and technical behind-the-camera specialists building professional portfolios and connecting with active productions.
Industry Services: Suppliers, coaches, headshot photographers, showreel editors, and studio spaces promoting services to the wider community.
1.2 Independent Venue Disclaimer
Crucial Notice: Casting Calls UK operates strictly as a technical software platform and networking venue. We are not a talent agency, casting agency, employment agency, or theatrical employer. We do not represent any talent or industry users on a personal or legal basis. CCUK does not guarantee employment, bookings, auditions, callbacks, or interaction/responses to any casting calls, messages, or applications submitted via the Platform.
2. Eligibility, Registration, and Account Vetting
2.1 Age Restrictions and Safeguarding
Independent Users: You must be at least 18 years of age to register an independent account or post opportunities on the Platform.
Minors Under 18: Performers under the age of 18 are strictly prohibited from opening accounts independently. A parent or legally appointed guardian must register, manage, configure, and maintain the profile on behalf of the minor, assuming full legal responsibility for all platform actions.
The Verification Hold: To satisfy strict UK safeguarding standards, any account created for a performer under 18 does not get approved immediately. It remains completely hidden from our public directories, search indexes, and external casting profiles until CCUK administration has manually completed our required verification checks.
2.2 Account Verification and Approval
To maintain a trusted environment, certain role sign-ups, specifically Casting Professionals, Agents, and Production Companies, must undergo a validation review. CCUK reserves the absolute right to review, delay, withhold, or reject any profile activation during our vetting process.
3. Subscriptions, Automated Billing, and Strict Cancellation Rules
3.1 Tiered Subscription Structures
While basic profiles are accessible across various roles, specialised functionality and enhanced limits require a paid premium subscription tier. Our flagship Talent Plans are defined as follows:
Talent Free: Access to a basic profile, basic directory search filters, the option to save favourite listings, and a strict limit of 3 casting applications per calendar month.
Talent Pro (£6.99/month): Everything in Free, plus unlimited casting applications, showreel media streaming uploads, profile analytics, and digital CV extraction as a PDF.
Talent Premium (£14.99/month): Everything in Pro, plus featured profile placement in the main directory, a verified talent badge, priority customer support, and direct messaging capabilities with casting directors.
Note: For all other platform roles, including Casting Professionals, Agents, Industry Services, Production Companies, and Crew, any upgraded tiers, featured placement listings, or enhanced software access will be billed transparently at checkout according to the specific rates displayed on our primary Pricing dashboard.
3.2 Continuous Payment Authority & Stripe Processing
All paid membership tiers are recurring cyclical subscriptions, not one-off purchases. Payments are securely processed via our integrated third-party payment gateway, Stripe.
By upgrading your account, you explicitly authorise automated continuous payment authority (CPA). This means your subscription will automatically renew and deduct the standard recurring rate from the payment method on file on the exact same calendar day of each billing cycle, monthly or annually, until you actively cancel the subscription.
3.3 Strict No-Refund & Cancellation Policy
Dashboard Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription renewal at any time directly through your Account Billing dashboard inside appcastingcalls.uk.
No Pro-Rata Refunds: Following cancellation, your premium privileges will remain active until the end of your current paid billing period. Changes take effect at the next billing cycle so you always keep the time you have paid for. We do not offer partial, pro-rata, or retrospective refunds for unused portions of an ongoing billing cycle.
Statutory Digital Content Performance Waiver: By logging into appcastingcalls.uk and executing paid digital features, such as submitting a 4th casting application, utilising direct messaging tools, or exporting a PDF CV, you explicitly request the immediate performance of our digital services. You hereby acknowledge that you waive any statutory right to a refund or cooling-off cancellation window once immediate digital content delivery has begun.
3.4 Direct Messaging Disclaimer
For tiers that unlock messaging functionality, such as Talent Premium unlocking direct messaging with casting directors, fees are paid solely for the technical provision of the communication software channel. CCUK does not control, vet, influence, or guarantee replies, feedback, auditions, or engagement from independent Casting Professionals. No refunds or billing modifications will be issued on the basis of user communication response rates.
4. User Content, Media Clearance, and Intellectual Property
4.1 Content Licensing
You retain all copyright and ownership rights to the headshots, portfolio images, text, media, showreels, credits, and links you upload to the Platform ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant CCUK a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sub-licensable license to host, stream, compress, display, store, and distribute your media across our systems to facilitate search index visibility, casting workflows, and application reviews.
4.2 Intellectual Property Warranties
You represent and warrant that you possess all necessary copyright clearances, permissions, and performance rights for the media you upload. You are solely responsible for ensuring that photographer credits for headshots are respected and that showreel clips do not infringe on third-party broadcast copyrights, studio intellectual property, or privacy rights.
4.3 Platform Ownership
All code, database logic, user interface designs, logos, technical frameworks, proprietary text, software, and trade dress on castingcalls.uk and appcastingcalls.uk are the exclusive intellectual property of CASTING CALLS UK LTD and are protected by UK and international copyright laws.
5. Platform Rules, Testing Environments, and Behavioural Breaches
5.1 Link to Community Guidelines
Our Community Guidelines form a direct, binding extension of these master Terms. You agree to adhere to the rules of professional conduct, UK National Minimum Wage posting transparency, and non-exploitative communication detailed therein.
5.2 Absolute Forfeiture Upon Behavioural Breach
While Section 3.3 permits standard users to cancel and keep their remaining active time, this privilege is entirely forfeited if your account is banned, suspended, or wiped due to a breach of our Community Guidelines or these master Terms. Users removed for behavioural violations, safeguarding failures, fraud, data-harvesting/scraping, or harassment will have their access revoked immediately and are completely ineligible for any refunds or remaining access.
5.3 Beta & Demonstration Environment Disclaimer
From time to time, CCUK may feature placeholder casting calls or test listings, such as listings labelled "DEMO CASTING CALL" or configurations for "Lifetime Members", to evaluate platform mechanics, database synchronisation, and workflow interfaces. You acknowledge that these listings are strictly for development and testing purposes, carry no real-world professional obligations, and CCUK is entirely exempt from any liability relating to user interactions with test content.
6. Limitation of Liability
6.1 "As-Is" Software Provision
The Platform is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by English law, CCUK makes no guarantees or warranties that platform operations will be completely uninterrupted, permanently online, or entirely free of temporary software bugs, latency, or data-sync delays.
6.2 Cap on Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CASTING CALLS UK LTD, its directors, employees, or partners shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, economic, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the platform, your contracts with other users, or your presence on external production sets.
6.3 Statutory Exemptions
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death, or personal injury caused directly by our proven negligence, or any other liability that cannot be legally limited under the law of England and Wales.
7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms, their subject matter, and their formation are governed exclusively by the laws of England and Wales. Any legal proceedings, claims, or disputes arising directly out of your use of the platform or this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
